The Need for Continuous Intelligence in Digital Transformation

In a recent conversation, I heard a counter-argument that digital transformation is just a fad promoted by tech firms. Apart from the fact that I strongly disagree with this, it made me realize that many people are unaware of the magnitude of change that is occurring in companies today as a result of digital transformation.

The corporate world has gone digital since the invention of the World Wide Web, followed by the transition to e-commerce in the 1980s. Digital technology is the term used to describe such a shift. A new era of industrialization has begun. Steam engines, automated production lines, manufacturing and supply chain computer power, and the digital experience sector topped the list of four technologies. The transformation is still in its early stages and will take decades to complete.

Technologies are constantly evolving in the field of IT

Technology is no longer solely owned by software corporations like Microsoft and Oracle. Today’s businesses have evolved into software businesses that run similarly to software businesses. The reason for this is that in every industrial vertical, digital services are the new gold rush for market growth.

You can no longer rely on plug-and-play software to provide meaningful, differentiated services since this makes you the same as everyone else. It’s possible that your bespoke applications constitute your product, the brains behind your physical products, or a technique to offer your product in a unique and innovative way.

As digitization takes over, follow through on it

The demand for real-time information to address the development, dependability, scalability, and security of these digital services has arisen as the underlying infrastructure has become automated, virtualized, ephemeral, and increasingly complex. Imagine being able to manage digital service applications instead of a few hundred servers.

Containers, which run thousands of third-party programs and off-the-shelf software, are at the heart of many modern technologies. The lifespan of approximately half of these containers is less than 30 minutes. As a result, having real-time information on what they’re doing is critical, and an analytics system capable of tracking and analyzing orders of magnitude more data streams is required.

These changes have resulted in the concept of Continuous Intelligence, which is a digital analytics methodology. Continuous Intelligence provides business teams with real-time insights into their operations, allowing them to adapt and enhance them in real-time, in addition to monitoring, diagnosing, and safeguarding digital services.

Old analytics tools developed for OTS and ERP systems won’t cut it in the era of cloud, agile, microservices-based organizations.

As a result of the epidemic, digital transformation has become increasingly important.

We have seen that many companies with problems recognize the importance of digital transformation because of the epidemic. Before and after the outbreak, SMEs had substantially different opinions of digital transformation.

As a result of the digital transformation, manufacturers have experienced an improvement in quality, synergy, and efficiency, despite the challenges they faced initially. An important role for manufacturing is to recognize what digital transformation is and how it can be managed.

According to a recent Sumo Logic study and the COVID-19 pandemic, intelligence as an analytics method for digital transformation continues to gain appeal.

Digital Transformation: Final Thoughts

There is often no difference between “digitalization” and “digital transformation” regardless of the sector. Process and process management differ in many important ways, for example. Digitalization and digital transformation are very different, and their benefits are very different, as well. By bringing societies and production to the future, the digital revolution brings efficiency, quality, time and cost savings, while also determining the constantly changing habits of users, allowing for personal production.

During digitalization, existing systems are met with digital technologies, and data are digitized and traced, while during digital transformation, existing business processes are improved or transformed in light of the data obtained. Using technology, digitization means converting any data into digital form.

We can say that digitalization can take the data in a production line into an industrial server so that the security infrastructure in the cyber world can be transferred to an industrial server;), and even making the necessary preparations by communicating with the previous and next process units. While digitalization is the detection and storage of customer behavior data, digital transformation is the enhancement of customer service based on these data and even on the use of ATMs.

It allows them to get cash in the palm of their hand without ever having to leave the house. For a car rental company, digitalization is to be able to keep track of location or customer driving style data, and digital transformation is to be able to offer a personalized rental price determined by an algorithm consisting of these data.

As a result, shops who have previously engaged in digital transformation are gaining a huge competitive advantage over those who have not – and I believe this advantage will continue after Covid-19, as these new customer buying behaviors will not fade out, but will become usual. All industries should be aware of a business discontinuity: digital transformation is real, not a fad, and those who invest now will win market share and digital customers faster than those who do not.
